Sunshine Coast Tech Industry Alliance Named Cyber Leadership Stream Partner for Sun Con 2026
Sun Con 2026 is pleased to announce the Sunshine Coast Tech Industry Alliance (SCTechIA) as a Silver sponsor of the event and the Naming Partner for the Cyber Leadership Stream.
As the peak body representing the Sunshine Coast’s technology and ICT sector, SCTechIA plays a central role in positioning the region as a nationally competitive digital economy. SCTechIA has proudly returned for a second year in support of Sun Con, building on its involvement in the event’s inaugural year. Its continued sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to building industry capability, strengthening cyber leadership, and advocating for sustainable growth across the Sunshine Coast technology ecosystem.
SCTechIA was established with the purpose of building industry capacity, driving local ICT jobs, encouraging collaboration between members to compete nationally and internationally, and providing a united and credible voice for the regional ICT industry. Supporting Sun Con 2026 builds on this mission by investing directly in the leadership capability required to guide organisations through increasing cyber, data, and digital complexity.
The opportunity for the Sunshine Coast is significant. Australia’s technology workforce continues to grow rapidly, increasing demand for effective leadership across cyber, data, and digital domains. The region is well positioned to capitalise on this growth, supported by an engaged and collaborative ICT industry, strong public sector investment in digital infrastructure such as the international broadband submarine cable, and a growing pipeline of public and private sector technology investment. This is further reinforced by supportive education providers, accelerating digital transformation across many industries, and sustained population growth across the region.
As Cyber Leadership Stream Naming Partner, SCTechIA will support a dedicated stream focused on cyber strategy, governance, risk, workforce development, and executive decision‑making. The stream is designed for CISOs, CIOs, executives, senior managers, and emerging leaders responsible for setting direction and influencing cyber outcomes within their organisations.
Sun Con 2026 has already confirmed a strong lineup of speakers for the Cyber Leadership Stream. The keynote will be delivered by Scott Wilkie, Managing Director and CTO, Global Sovereign Security Lead at Accenture Security. The stream will be emceed by Adam Green, CISO at Green Cyber Consulting. Additional announced speakers include Shanna Daly, CEO of Torin Cyber Group (Sydney), Daisy Wong, Head of Security Awareness (Melbourne), and Alex Tilley, Global Threat Research Coordinator at Okta a Sunshine Coast local.
Sun Con brings together cybersecurity professionals, students, industry, and government to share knowledge, challenge thinking, and build stronger collective capability. SCTechIA’s sponsorship reinforces the importance of collaboration and advocacy in developing a resilient and nationally competitive regional technology sector.
Sun Con 2026 will be held on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at the UniSC Innovation Centre, Sunshine Coast, welcoming approximately 150 cybersecurity professionals and students from across the region and beyond.
